Thank you for another excellent piece. Thorough, thoughtful, and spot on, IMO.

A very thorough and well thought out breakdown of the situation! I was not aware of the piece about Israel’s role in limiting access to vaccines within Palestine (though I cant say Im surprised) Thank you for sharing your thoughts! With the exception of the kind of CC person you mentioned that is only careful to protect themselves and not for concern anyone else I completely agree that its impossible to be informed, CC, and Zionist without entertaining some serious cognitive dissonance

Excellent piece, with all the receipts. I learned some things I didn’t know, specifically about what the early years of the pandemic was like in the occupied territories. Israel seems to want to claim a stake to the territories when it suits them and to call Palestine an independent entity when it doesn’t. The hypocrisies are too many to count.

Thank you for reading! Palestine has always been so close to my heart and obviously now Covid/LC is my whole life, so I wanted to find another avenue to discuss the intersections. There is really no issue Palestine doesn’t touch - disability, healthcare, race, ecology, environment, the list goes on. I hope it wakes people up!

Baldy spent some time in Palestine and Israel years ago like you did. His stories of how well the Palestinians treated him are so touching. He got invited to dinner at one of their homes and he went. He got to see conditions firsthand. Sounds like you were there more recently than he was (around 2000).

They are some of the kindest people I have ever met. Palestinians love life. It’s so precious when every day someone’s trying to rob you of it.

Every time I’ve seen the intersection of Palestine/Gaza and C-19 people have essentially been snide. Obviously it isn’t the biggest issue at hand but people are still being maimed and deprived of the basic standard of care to fight the ongoing pandemic.

Even normal vaccinations have been failed to be distributed in Gaza.

Genocide is, as genocide does; just as Christian/Jew is as Christian/Jew does. Actions speak louder than words. The irony here is that Israel is looking for labensraum. The real problem for Mother Earth is TOO MANY HUMANS using too many natural resources and producing too much pollution, including GHGs and global heating: the GAST is increasing at the rate of 0.2 degC EVERY YEAR, so we may see the extinction level 5 degC over the 1991-2020 baseline by 2042, 17 yrs. hence, if not sooner. The Levant will an early casualty. Nature Bats Last.

You use the word 'decimate' multiple times in this piece - do you literally mean removal of 10% of healthcare services/PPE/population? 10% is catastrophic, but my understanding is that this number is a lot higher, but I do not have the knowledge you do, so wanted to clarify.
